Ballinacourty House is a beautifully restored 18th century stone building.
Dating from 1833, the building was originally a stable complex, part of a great Estate.
The original Ballinacourty House was destroyed during the troubles in 1922.
The Glen of Aherlow is a beautiful, quiet country valley, secluded but not isolated. It sits snugly between the Galtee Mountains and the Slievenamuck Range, whose foothills are clothed in forest, and provide a variety of lovely looped and marked woodland trails, many of which you can do directly from the property.
See www.aherlow.com/walking for routes and maps.
We are situated 3km from the Glencush Boreen, the start point for the mountain hikes to Cush, Galtybeg & Galtymore, and Lough Curra. 10km to the start point for Lake Muskry.
You can easily visit The Rock of Cashel, Swiss Cottage & Cahir Castle, the Mitchelstown Caves, the Vee Valley, and the market towns of Tipperary, Mitchelstown, Cahir and Clonmel.
We are only 2 hours’ drive from Dublin, 1 hour from Cork & Limerick.
The possibilities for day-trips are many and varied, all easily accessible using Ballinacourty House as a base or a stop-over.

Unfortunatley, as all rooms are up on the 1st floor, and we do not have a lift- we do not have any wheelchair accessible bedrooms. Entrance to B&B and access to 1st floor restaurant is via cobblestone courtyard, (uneven surface) so mobility is necessary for a stay in our home.
